Happy Birthday!!

Dear Friend:

It is ironic that people would greet others on their birthdays. What’s so special about the day? Of course, you were born on this day but then there were millions of others and that rules out the day being special. Fact is that this day should remind us of the only certain thing in life, i.e., we are getting closer to a definite end. And may be that’s why people congratulate each other—for having made through one more grueling year without losing out. The most certain thing in life--death is also the most uncetrtain when it comes to its time. However, with each birthday we get closer to this reality and this oughta teach us more lessons. We need to get wiser at each birthday and we actually do get wiser and that's we get congratulated for. For knowing what is right for us and what is not. For being able to handle the difficult decisions better and for knowing a foe from friend.
